“To enable individuals, families, and carers affected by neuromuscular disorders to have as full and active life as possible”.
The Muscular Dystrophy Association Inc provides a range of specialised services to adults and children with a neuromuscular disorder, which affects around 1 in 1000 people. That equates to roughly 1,500 South Australians.
At present there is no cure for Muscular Dystrophy which causes muscles to become weaker and waste away.
Many people with neuromuscular disorders will eventually need to use a wheel chair, although some will manage without. Despite this, most people with Muscular Dystrophy are not affected in their ability to think, feel, hope and dream. They, their families and carers all aspire to as full and active a life as possible.
By donating to, or raising money for, the Muscular Dystrophy Association in SA you will make a difference to the life of a child or adult with a neuromuscular disorder. You can help them to live the full and active life they deserve.
